Why not just Confluence or Jira

Confluence and Notion give you pages of text about the system. Jira and Linear give you lists of tickets. Nodl gives you a visual canvas that answers what the system is and what is happening to it, with relationships visible by default.

How it works

Divide your system into nodes: areas (Finance, Purchasing, Warehouse), integrations (Stripe, GitHub, Supabase), and databases.
Attach changes to nodes. Every change can cross-link to other nodes it affects. Relationships show up as lines on the canvas.
Use lenses to highlight cross-cutting concerns: an initiative, GDPR scope, team ownership, security risk.

AI import (Pro)

Upload a CSV. Get a canvas. Export from Jira, ServiceNow, Excel, or anywhere else. Nodl proposes the map. You review every placement. Accept, edit, or discard. Every AI action is human-reviewed, always. Nothing lands on the canvas without your approval.

Or connect Jira directly: add the nodl label to any ticket and it arrives in a review inbox when it is marked done.

Prefer no AI? The canvas works fully without it. Canvas AI and AI Import are Pro-only, opt-in per action, and never touch your data unless you trigger them.

MCP integration (for developers)

Wire Nodl into Claude Code, Cursor, or any other MCP client with one command: claude mcp add nodl npx nodl-mcp. Your AI agent can read your canvas and document work directly into a Nodl reviewer's inbox. Live on npm. Free with any Nodl account.

Canvas AI (Pro)

Once your canvas is live, Canvas AI answers questions against the actual system. Impact analysis, dependency search, lens creation. Ask "what breaks if Stripe goes down?" and the affected nodes light up on the canvas. Some answers show up on the map, some come back as text. All are grounded in your actual system, not a generic knowledge base.

Security and trust

Frequently asked questions

How is Nodl different from Confluence or Notion?: Confluence describes your system in pages. Nodl shows it. If you would rather see the shape of your architecture than read about it, Nodl is the tool.
How is Nodl different from Jira or Linear?: Jira tracks the work. Nodl shows the system the work happens on. Every change in Nodl can link to a Jira ticket, so both stay in sync.
Do I need to be a developer to use Nodl?: No. Nodl is built for IT owners, managers, and architects as much as for developers. If you can read a subway map, you can read a Nodl canvas.

What data goes to Anthropic when I use AI features?: Canvas AI and AI Import send your canvas structure (node names, descriptions, cross-links) and your query text to Anthropic's Claude API in the United States, under Standard Contractual Clauses. Anthropic does not train on API data. If you don't use those features, no workspace data leaves the EU. Full detail on the Trust page.
Do you charge per seat?: Never. Solo is $17 flat for one person. Pro is $250 flat per organisation, unlimited users. Neither model is changing.
What is Solo vs Pro?: Solo is for one person: one system, one seat, 500K AI tokens per month. Pro is for teams: unlimited systems, seats, nodes, changes, plus 1M AI tokens per month, shareable public docs, and blueprints.
What are the AI token limits?: Solo includes 500K tokens per 30 days (rolling), Pro includes 1M. Tokens are consumed by AI Import, Canvas AI, MCP, and GitHub App bootstrap. Both tiers can buy top-ups: 500K for $10 on Solo, 1M for $20 on Pro. No usage-based billing.
Can I import from Jira?: Yes. Upload a Jira CSV, or add the "nodl" label to any Jira ticket and Nodl pulls it in when it is marked done.
